Once you've got Goodchatting to show up on your main Options screen, let's set up your identd server. Basically, it's part of a method of identification for you for various server-related things, like your nickname registration, any channel affiliations you may have... and if your eyes just glazed over, don't worry and just follow this quick step. (If, on the other hand, you'd like to learn more about the identd server within your mIRC client, you can read more about the protocol here.

So click on the left where it says Identd.

You'll see I type in "juliebug". Just type in your regular nickname here and make sure the box is ticked next to Enable Identd server.

Then, just go back up to Connect on the left side. And, oddly enough, hit the big Connect button.
