Hi folks. As of 1am ET on Saturday, June 1st, we’ve been experiencing downtime or instability for about 27 hours. Obviously, this is not fun. It’s also quite frustrating and I understand your frustration because I share it.
As I understand it, there is an issue with my hosting company’s data center. There’s nothing we can do to expedite the process.
Since this hosting company was amazing for us during our unexpected downtime last month (seriously, our server would have vanished into thin air without these people), I’m more than willing to give them a chance to get us back online. Still, if it happens again in the next couple of months, I’ll have to look at my hosting options, so that we’re ready for November and National Novel Writing Month.
For the time being, the only thing we can do is sit tight and be patient. The company did say that “service has been restored” about an hour ago, but it’s clear that that’s not the case, which is unfortunate. I hope no other issues have cropped up.
Anyhow. I’m heading out of town until late on Sunday, June 2nd, so I won’t be around to provide updates. Just keep trying the server. I know Fish will, as usual, be awesome and help to take care of things if our server is accessible but something’s not quite right (like services or something).
Thanks for your patience through this frustrating time. Let’s all take a breath or two and see how the hosting company responds to it before calling for their heads on a platter, shall we?
Have a great weekend!
