Your donation will be used for one of a couple purposes:

1) IRC server costs: We rent server space and bandwidth from the kind folks at JEAH.net which costs a minimum of $25 (USD) each month. However, if we go over our bandwidth limit (as we tend to do every so often), this cost can quickly increase. If you donate, chances are that this is what your money will go towards.

2) Website costs: Of course, we also need to host the website. We'll be moving the website to a new host shortly, once our current contract is up. The cost of this is $60 (US) for the year, plus an additional $8 (US) to renew the GoodChatting.com domain name.

3) Advertising: We've enjoyed success in the past by placing PyrAds at Blogger.com and TextAds over at Metafilter.com. If all our costs are paid for the foreseeable future, we'll take a small amount of cash and place these text ads on these high-traffic sites and target them to people and groups that may be looking to set up a chatroom.

In short, all your donations go straight back into the running of the server. Every cent is truly appreciated and we thank you for considering a donation.
